Amin Erfani is an award-winning author, a translator of contemporary French theater, and a scholar specialized in 20th and 21st century literature, avant-garde theater, critical and psychoanalytic theory. His research and academic publications span across disciplines to examine junctures between post-dramatic theater, new media technology, modern poetry, theories of affect, and marginally. He is a professor at Lehman College and also teaches at the Graduate Center at CUNY. In addition to his scholarly work, he has published in various literary journals in English and French, worked collaboratively with artists across the Atlantic, and adapted his own work for the stage in both languages. He is also an American-English translator of the seminal French playwrights Valère Novarina (An Incomprehensible Mother Tongue, 2015) and Bernard-Marie Koltès (Bernard-Marie Koltès: Seven Plays, 2022).
